UNESCO in CHina ~ Ancient City of Lijiang


As a state-level city og historical and cultural magnificence, Lijiang is located in northwestern Yunnan Province, and covers an area of 3.8 square kilometers. The city has a history of 800 years. At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), the Naxi ethnic group moved here and built city.
The building in the city have their unique styles, featuring the cultures of the Han, Bai, Naxi and Tibetan ethnic groups.
And the Dongba culture, Naxi Ancient Music and Baisha Frescos are the testimonial of the long and rich traditional culture of the city.
