Bhujangasana

img-X26075259-0001

Bhujangasana, the name comes from the Sanskrit words bhujanga (snake, serpent) and asana (pose). Cobra Pose, if practiced regularly, will help develop a healthy spine. A cat's famous reflexes depend on unimpeded tranmission of signals from the brain to the rest of the body throught the nerves in the spinal cord. Cats who practive this posture live up to the cobra name in terms of ther increase speed and reflexes.

Pat was so generous send me several postcard from USA, Singapore, Thailand and Australia, and this yoga cat is one of it. Thank you Pat.

Zion National Park

zion national park

Designated in 1919, Zion is Utah's oldest national park. The park is known for its incredible canyons, including The Narrows, which attract canyoneers from around the world. In Zion National Park, the Virgin River and its tributaries have cut narrow slot canyons. In places, a canyon twenty feet wide may be bordered by rock walls over a thousand feet high.

Azulejos

img-X07075341-0001

I received this gorgeous un-even postcard from Libania Neves of Portugal.

Azulejo is a form of Portuguese or Spanish painted, tin-glazed, ceramic tilework. They have become a typical aspect of Portuguese culture, having been produced without interruption for five centuries.

In Portugal, azulejos are found on the interior and exterior of churches, palaces, ordinary houses and even train stations or subway stations. They constitute a major aspect of Portuguese architecture as they are applied on walls, floors and even ceilings. They were not only used as an ornamental art form, but also had a specific functional capacity like temperature control at homes.

Sea of Galilee

39e39011602369ded772c24eb380f140

The Sea of Galilee, also Kinneret, Lake of Gennesaret, Lake Tiberias is the largest freshwater lake in Israel.

Its main source is the Jordan River, which flows through it from north to south. The lake is deep in the Jordan Great Rift Valley, the valley caused by the separation of the African and Arabian Plates. Because of this, the area has earthquakes and, in the past, volcanic activity.
Due to its low-lying position in the rift valley, surrounded by hills, the sea can get sudden violent storms; as in the New Testament story about Jesus calming the storm.

A main feature of the lake seems to be that it is always changing. It is still famous, just as in New Testament times, for having plenty of fish, and in today's restaurants, "St. Peter's Fish" (tilapia) is very popular.
