East Beckwith Mountain, Colorado

Colorado is Spanish for 'colored red'. Named for the river, it was admitted into the Union in 1876 as the 38th state. Being the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Corado gained its nickname, the centennial state, claiming Denver as its capital.

Seems like the higher elevations always get the prettier autumn colors. We always drive up to the mountains in the fall to see them.

Love the postcard. My brother lived in Denver for a while. Now he lives in Alabama. (YUK)
