Denver ~~ The most popular City and County the state of Colorado. Denver is a consolidated city-county located in the South Platte River Valley on the High Plains just east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.

Denver is nicknamed the Mile-High City because its official elevation is exactly one mile, or 5,280 feet (1,609 m) above sea level.

East Beckwith Mountain, Colorado

Colorado is Spanish for 'colored red'. Named for the river, it was admitted into the Union in 1876 as the 38th state. Being the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Corado gained its nickname, the centennial state, claiming Denver as its capital.
