Istria (Croatian, Slovene: Istra), formerly Histria (Latin), is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. The peninsula is located at the head of the Adriatic between the Gulf of Trieste and the Bay of Kvarner. It is shared by three countries: Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy.

Split, Croatia

Jeleva send me this postcard from her hometown Split.
The Diocletian's Palace is in the UNESCO WHS list since 1979.
In year 2005, Croatia's Ministry of Culture submitted an extension request to UNESCO for a wider area of the city and Diocletian, which is located outside the city itself.

Zadar, Croatia

Located in central Dalmatia , in the county of Zadarska, Zadar is one of the Adriatic's most historically interesting towns with a wealth of sightseeing and exciting nightlife. Travelling to Zadar is like peeling back layers of time.

Cigoc of Croatia

My first postcard from Croatia.

Cigoc (Chigodi) is a village placed in Nature Park, Lonjsko Polje, area suggested for UNESCO list. It's "First European Stork Village" due to its colony of white storks.
