Melbourne, Australia

Melbourne is set around the shores of Port Phillip Bay. The city itself, laid out in a large rectangle and boasting a lively and cosmopolitan pulse, sits on the northern banks of the Yarra River, about five kilometres from the bay.

Heather Forrey send me this beautiful postcard.

She wrote on the postcard, " From the 10th century onwards, this town bacame an important link for the Slav people, especially those of Poland and Pomerania. During its period of greatest prosperity, from the 12th century onwards, the architecture of Bamberg strongly influenced by northern Germany and Hungary. In the late 18th century it was the centre of the Enlightenment in southern Germany, with eminent philosophers and writers such as Hegel and Hoffmann living there.

According to her, Kouvola is city in southeastern Finland and it's the 10th biggest city in Finland. Finland is country of thousands of lakes.

Castelul Peles, Romania

Today a historical monument, Peleş Castle (Romanian: Castelul Peleş ) is a Neo-Renaissance castle placed in an idyllic setting in the Carpathian Mountains, near Sinaia, in Prahova County, Romania, on an existing medieval route linking Transylvania and Wallachia, built between 1873 and 1914; its inauguration was held in 1883.

Canyamel, Spain

Canyamel, or to give it its correct name, Playa de Canyamel, is an old and small resort tucked away in the north-east of Mallorca between Cala Ratjada and Cala Millor. Famous for its beach , is one of the nicest on this part of the coast and is popular with day trippers in Summer.

I keep my card in boxes, I have too many, and different sizes don't fit in an album. I've thought of decorating a room wall with cards but then I wouldn't be able to re-read them from time to time, which is something I love doing :)

I keep my cards in a nice album, but if it's 10*15 size. Other cards are in a big violet "gifting box", but I'm looking for a new way to keep it.

Great cards! I keep most of my exchanged postcards in a box, but I also have an album of vintage cards. My kids have started purchasing cards for me when they are away from home. I haven't decided how to store these yet.

My favourite cards I put on a wall in the kitchen. The others I keep in a shoebox that I decorated with wrapping paper.

Here is mine way to store the postcards ..... here

and there are certain ways like
#
1- Purchase archival-quality plastic holders for storing postcards that are made of uPVC. This is a material that prevents the forming of acidic oils that can destroy the appearance of your postcards. These holders are easily found at stores that sell collectors supplies.

2 - Make sure that the holders that you use to store your postcards are larger than the postcards themselves. Holders that are the same size or just slightly larger can make handling difficult, resulting in tears, creases and bent corners.

3 - Keep postcards in a cool and dry environment, Excessive heating and moisture will cause cards to stick to surfaces and make removal difficult, if not impossible, without damage. You should also keep postcards away from cigarette smoke or other smoky areas, as smoke can ruin the appearance of cards by turning them brown.

4 - Store the postcards in holders and then place them in either albums or postcard boxes for the greatest amount of protection. If two types of protection are used, you need only remove the holders when you want to appreciate your collection, without exposing the postcards to the elements or excessive handling.

5 -Choose non-acidic paper album pages, paper dividers, inserts and cardboard boxes, since acids can ruin the colors and textures of postcards. Select papers that have a pH (acid level) of 7.0 or slightly higher.

6 - Travel to postcard shows or auctions with one of the aluminum travel cases that are widely available. These offer secure, lockable storage for large amounts of postcards and other collection supplies.

7 - Buy several albums or boxes if you want to store your collection by category, such as travel locale, subject matter or architecture. This type of categorization makes it much simpler to find a particular postcard.

Heredia, Costa Rica

Heredia is one of the most beautiful provinces in Costa Rica. Known for its verdant coffee plantation covered hills and volcanic national parks; this mountainous region also has dense tropical forests, stunning waterfalls and roaring rivers.

World Wonders ~ Maldives

My sister just came back holiday from this ~ a thousand ‘Robinson Crusoe’ islands ~ Maldives.

A chain of 1190 little coral islands scattered across the Indian Ocean that forms the archipelago of the Maldives in 80- 120 km wide. The Maldives is the lowest country in the world, with the average being only 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) above sea level, although in areas where construction exists, this has been increased to several metres.

The reef is composed of coral debris and living coral. This acts as a natural barrier against the sea, forming lagoons. Other islands, set at a distance and parallel to the reef, have their own protective fringe of reef. An opening in the surrounding coral barrier allows access to the calmer lagoon waters. The barrier reefs of the islands protect them from the storms and high waves of the Indian Ocean.

I love France

Impressed so much with this postcard from France !!

France is the most visited country in the world.

The West of France is facing towards the Atlantic Coast. In the north Normandy & Brittany have rolling hills, sandy beaches and quiet little harbour towns. Normandy & Brittany have a more rugged coast and many neolithic sites. It has quite a distinct atmosphere from the rest of the country; you can still sense the Celtic origin of the region in its inhabitants.

The eastern part of France consists of the Alsace, Lorraine, Franche Comté and Burgundy regions. The landscape has rolling hills and many beautiful cities, such as Metz, Strasbourg, Nancy and Dijon. This region produces many famous wines, including magnificent pinot noirs and chardonnays valued the world over, as well as the famous "Yellow wine" from the Jura mountain vineyard.

The Centre of France is in many ways the most quietest part of France. But the great treasure of this region is the Loire valley , with many great castles and beautiful towns. Chartres with its famous cathedral and Tours rates among the most beautiful French cities.
