Weimar is a city in Germany mostly known for its cultural heritage. The oldest records about Weimar date back to the year 899. Its name changed over the centuries from "Wimares" through "Wimari" to "Wimar" and finally "Weimar" (sainted marsh).

Don't forget to enter your name in my postcards giveaway here.

I visited Weimar once. i had the best dumplings there that I have had anywhere. They were so tasty. There are some wonderful sights to see in Weimar. We visited Goethe's house, which was really overwhelming.
