I love blue skies

Skywatch Friday

I enjoyed the 10-15 minutes morning walk from Light Rail Transit (LRT) to my workplace.
So blessed to have the blue sky back again after a month of unhealthy air.

Kumusta from Philippines

David mentioned in his postcard that Kumusta ka is the informal way for 'How are you' in Filipino. While Kumusta po is the formal way in saying that.

David took the photo of the Manila China town and had it printed as a postcard.

There for centuries have been cultivated the Rose "Rosa damascena" (or called as Damask rose / Rose of Castile) from which is produced the rose oil. The Rose growing industry in Bulgaria produces 70% of the world's rose oil. The Rose petals provide the precious Rose essential oil. Rose oil is known for its healing and antiseptic properties.

Haze is blanketing Kuala Lumpur

Skywatch Friday

I do not have great blue sky nor nice sunset photos to show off.
Kindly bear with me, we are amid the haze blanketing the surrounding.

The shots were taken on Oct 19 & 20 from the office window.
I was feel like suffocated on that two days. I would said that was the worst ever (fingers crossed)
However, the haze is still out there (as of today).

Notes to travelers
The deterioration in the air quality and visibility conditions cause by haze. The hazy situation happened around August - October, dry season in Malaysia, Singapore, part of Thailand. The haze problem was caused by uncontrolled open burning to clear land agricultural uses (worsen if in dry season) in Indonesia. The prevailing southeasterly winds blowing in haze spreading westward from Sumantra and Kalimantan. The situation turning serious from year to year.

Nouvelles Card : Le Miel

Oh..this postcard reminded me one of the scene in Mamamia.
Thanks to Caroline who live in the east of France, near a town called Vesoul to send me this nouvelles Image Postcard.

(Honey Honey lyrics ~ Mamamia)

Honey honey, how he thrills me, a-ha, honey honey
Honey honey, nearly kill me, a-ha, honey honey
I've heard about him before
I wanted to know some more
And now I know what they mean, he's a love machine
Oh, he makes me dizzy

Honey honey, let me feel it, a-ha, honey honey
Honey honey, don't conceal it, a-ha, honey honey
The way that you kiss good night

I want blue sky...please

I've not posting in SkyWatch Friday since Sept 2015. Malaysia has been affected by severe haze due to forest fires in the region in this duration (from Sept to Oct). The air were polluted and we have to wear face mask. School was closed due to worsen API. Outdoor activity are limited. Standard Chartered KL Maraton 2015 which supposed to be held on Oct 5,2015 was cancelled due to worsen air quality in Kuala Lumpur.

For the air quality measurement, Malaysia is based on API (Unhealthy Air Pollution Index). In addition to API, Singapore also measure air quality based on PSI which will revealed the 6 pollutants (sulphur dioxide (SO2), particulate matter (PM10) and fine particulate matter (PM2.5), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO) and ozone (O3).

The sky in the morning (Oct 16,2015) was good. Thanks to heavy rain poured down yesterday.

Re-discover Malaysia from another angle

The beautiful sights of Malaysia

Chuping, Perlis
Marang, Terengganu
Taiping Lake Garden, Perak
Floating Mosque, Terengganu
Sibuan, Sabah

Chok Yen Hau (MyRoadPlanner) is a Malaysian.
He is not only a good writer but also a great photographer.
He uses his lens to capture what he seen on his travel on his own homeland, Malaysia

He says, “Many of the beautiful spots are off-road or along the old routes. What I find strange is that most Malaysians focus solely on the destination when they think about travel. For me, our journey has started the moment we lock the door of our homes behind us. The journey is the real travel experience.”

Anuardan Art Postcard

The series of art postcards (2004) that I bought from Pasar Seni Art Market few years back. I will send out this series of postcards to lucky postcrossers.

Anuardan (Malaysia) painting are well articulate, the houses strongly vertical and depicted in surrealistic and semi abstract ways. Figure in his works, exquisitely nuanced, are pale shadows. He has relayed an impeding sense of foreboding, of everything being ultimately mutable. Even the intricate and detailed works on these domiciles seem ephemeral. This very ambiguity is profoundly disturbing. His image are imposing but never tactile and the colour utilised, of 'ditch' hues of earth-based tone succeed in lending his creation a sense of antiquity.
