The Cathedrals of St Petersburg



The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity of the Izmailovsky Life-Guards of Regiment 1828-1835

Built in 1828-1835, upon a decree of Emperor Nicholas I, patron of the Izmailovsky Life-Guards Regiment, to Vasily Starov's design.

In 1938 the cathedral was closed. In 1990, it has been returned to the Russian Orthodox Church.
