Tennessee, the Volunteer State, became the 16th state on June 1, 1796. Music is probably the state's number one commodity to the world with the blues born on Beale St. in Memphis and the Grand Ole Opry originating in Nashville, the Capital.

Map Postcard of Pennine Way

This gorgeous Map Postcard was send to me by a very kind blogger friend of mine in UK. Jaqi send me more about dozen of postcards. And this is one of it.

The Pennine Way National Trail, 429 km (268 miles) of chasing the Pennine Mountain tops along the rugged backbone of England, from the Peak District through the Yorkshire Dales and over Hadrian's Wall to the Cheviots. Amongst the finest upland walking in England.

Most full length walkers allow between 16 to 19 days to walk the Way. The best weather on the Pennine Way is usually from mid May to September, however it can be walked all year round.

I so much impress with beautiful trail photos here.

Helen wrote to me that this is a very new building in Kyiv. Puppet theater has mosaics outside and inside. Children likes them very much. Aqua-center, mostly know as a museum of aqua.

The St Kilda Pavilion is an historic kiosk located at the end of St Kilda Pier built in 1904, originally known as Parer's Pavilion and later renamed Kirby's Kiosk but locally known as St Kilda Kiosk.

An accurate reconstruction of the fire-destroyed heritage St Kilda Pier Kiosk building has been reopened and is welcoming new friends and old to the St Kilda Pier once again.

Mount St Helens

Mount St. Helens is an active stratovolcano located in Skamania County, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.

From the north, the changing landscape of Mount St Helens is seen reflected in the waters of spirit lake.

Renees wrote on the postcard, "This mountain used to look like a regular mountain but in 1980 it had a huge eruption and had an earthquake that created this crater."

In order to find the track, Tallinn Narva road 51 km 1 km turn Loksa half. The trail is in good condition and marked with white värvitriipudega trees on the track, there are pamphlets, Estonian, German and English.
If a person is accustomed to find a nature tracks of land, the Viru bog is the only one at the beginning. The trail is 3.5 km long, the distance at any time of year. Largely the boardwalk. Ring is 5 km long.

Hungry Ghost Festival

Like Halloween in America, Chinese of Malaysia celebrate the ‘Hungry Ghost festival’.

The Ghost Festival is celebrated during the 7th month of the Chinese Lunar calendar.The Chinese believes that on the 7th Lunar month the Gates of Hell will open and the hungry ghosts will be free to roam in the living world for a month. This is the time when the Chinese remember their dead family members and pay tribute to them. Offering food to the deceased to appease them and wards off bad luck.

It is a common sight to see Chinese Opera and Puppet shows performed on outdoor stages in some neighborhoods to entertain the ghost. These events are always held at night. There is a belief that this entertainment would please those wandering ghosts.

Sastamala

Sastamala is a town and municipality of Finland. It was created January 1, 2009, when the municipalities of Vammala, Äetsä and Mouhijärvi were consolidated into a single town. (source : Wikipedia)

Sastamala has a number of interesting places to visit, including a comprehensive suite of cultural events mostly held in the summer. However, the most spectacular sight is Kokemäenjoki (Kokemäki river) and the lakes it forms north-east of Vammala (Rautavesi and Kulovesi) . The water system is one of the twenty-seven national landscapes in Finland.

In 2009, Finland, Chile and about 40 other countries will issue stamps on climate change. The common theme is Preserve the Polar Regions and Glaciers. The international stamp campaign is being coordinated by Itella’s Philatelic Centre in Finland.
Each participant country will issue its stamps on its own schedule in the period January-March 2009. Each country will also decide independently on the illustration theme for its issue.

Princeton

Nassau Hall , one of the largest buildings on the Princeton University campus has served many purposes throughout US's history.

During the Revolutionary War, it was a barracks and hospital occupied by British or Continental troops. The British surrendered here in the Battle of Princeton in 1776. Important political gatherings, such as the first legislature of the State of New Jersey and the Continental Congress sessions have taken place here.

Presently, the atrium contains a memorial, of names etched in marble, of Princeton's war dead. The hall is frequently used for faculty and board of trustee meetings and other gatherings.

Hamborg is the second-largest city in Germany (after Berlin) and the sixth-largest city in the European Union.

Hamburg's official name is the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Today, the harbor ranks second in Europe and sixth to seventh world-wide. Consequently, one of Hamburg's tag lines is "The Gate to the World". Hamburg is known to be one of the richest metropolitan area in the European Union, like Bruxelles and London.

Ashdod is the fifth-largest city in Israel, located in the Southern District of the country, on the Mediterranean coast. Ashdod is an important regional industrial centre. The Port of Ashdod is Israel's largest port accounting for sixty percent of the country's imported goods.

Trojan Horse

This is a very interesting card from Turkey.
You must be heard about the origin "Trojan Horse" or the Troy.

When the Greeks had lain siege to Troy for ten years, without results, they pretended to retreat. They left behind a huge wooden horse, in which a number of Greek heroes, among whom Odysseus, had hidden themselves. The spy Sinon convinced the Trojans, despite the warnings of Laocoon, to move the horse inside the city as a war trophy. In the following night, the Greeks left the wooden horse and attacked the unsuspecting and celebrating Trojans, and finally conquered Troy.

However, there is another "Trojan Horse" or trojan for short in computing world which most people don't like. It is a malware that appears, to the user, to perform a desirable function but, in fact, facilitates unauthorized access to the user's computer system.

Skywatch Firday 56 - Hot Air Balloon at Putrajaya

SKYWATCH Friday : Clear blue sky (after several hazy day).

We enjoyed our last Sunday by bringing our children to Dataran Putrajaya (Presint-2).

There was an occasion held - Floral Fest.

However, the most attractive for our children was not the colorful flowers but the hot air balloon.

KXin was so much happy "Hot Hair Balloon" (she still try to get the right pronunciation :)

Kuala Lumpur Intergrated Transit Network

The Kelana Jaya Line is one of the two light rail transit lines in the Kuala Lumpur Rail Transit System operated by RapidKL Rail network. The other rail network is the Ampang Line.

The Kelana Jaya Line was formerly known as PUTRA Line LRT system or simply PUTRA LRT ("PUTRA" stood for Projek Usahasama Transit Ringan Automatik Sdn Bhd, the company which developed and operated it).

Ariel View of Tokyo

Tokyo is Japan's capital and the country's largest city.

Tokyo is also one of Japan's 47 prefectures, but is called a metropolis (to) rather than a prefecture (ken). The metropolis of Tokyo consists of 23 city wards (ku), 26 cities, 5 towns and 8 villages, including the Izu and Ogasawara Islands, several small Pacific Islands in the south of Japan's main island Honshu.

The 23 city wards (ku) are the center of Tokyo and make up about one third of the metropolis' area, while housing roughly eight of Tokyo's approximately twelve million residents.

Prior to 1868, Tokyo was known as Edo. A small castle town in the 16th century, Edo became Japan's political center in 1603 when Tokugawa Ieyasu established his feudal government there. A few decades later, Edo had grown into one of the world's most populous cities.
